Landel Mill’s marketing expert met with representatives of farmer groups benefiting from ADP, during the seminar of May 2007, and reiterated the importance of adopting collective marketing approaches and implementing internationally approved quality standards to ensure the success and viability of their projects previewed within the ADP. The expert also conducted field visits to most of the groups, and reviewed with each the progress of the completion of administrative and formal procedures related to their projects.
In his concluding meeting with the groups held on September 8th 2007, the expert highlighted the need to:
- Set collective marketing plans.
- Prepare to start production operations.
- Prepare to adopt the quality standards that are most suitable for the output produced
- Voluntarily establish three ‘collective marketing units’ to assist cooperatives with similar activities to market their output.
Last but not least, Landel Mill’s expert explained that groups’ ability to best implement his directives and to succeed in their projects planned within ADP depends strongly on empowering agricultural experts within each group, and also on seeking the assistance of ADP experts at the project, the Federation and at the ministry of agriculture, as often as possible.
