The ADP, in the aim of promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and, thus, enhancing the quality of the local produce, has introduced the Eurepgap methods as a mandatory condition for farmer groups benefiting from common marketing programs within the project.
However, it should be noted that, and in addition to GAP, specialized quality control systems such as the HACCP should be implemented in order to guarantee a high of food safety.
Lately, the international and comprehensive food safety standard ISO 22000 was introduced and replaced all the existing norms in this field.
The ADP, and through the EU QUALEB project implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Trade, has offered to train 20 experts on the ISO 22000:2005. For those who are interested in the training opportunity, please contact ADP before August 20th, 2007.
